THE COMPANY

SILCA was founded in the 70’s in Busano (To). Since the beginning of its history the activity was focused in producing components for earth moving and agricoltural equipment and for gear transmission.

The SILCA’s grouth was very rapid and during the years technological and human investments improved both efficiency and quality of its product.

Today SILCA is stil a family owned company leading in forging production of transmission shafts and gears for the earth moving market.
The facility allows SILCA to product over 18 000 TONS/YEAR of forging pieces, shared among over 350 references starting from 4 Kg weight up to 55 Kg.

The firm occupies 24 000 square meters in total with over 5000 sqm covered by buildings.
PRODUCTION LINES

The production departments are composed of 4 production lines;

  • A line 4000 tons with line for steel induction heating and cutting, press 1000 tons for pre-forming, press 4000 tons for pre-forming and forming and press 500 tons for trimming.
  • A second line 4000 tons with line for steel induction heating and cutting or induction, eating for pre-cut pieces, robot for heated parts handling, press 1000 tons for pre-forming, press 4000 tons for pre-forming and forming and press 500 tons for trimming.
  • A line 2 500 tons with inductive oven for pre-cut billets, press 1000 tons for pre-forming, press 2500 tons for pre-forming and forming, press 400 tons for trimming and press 400 tons for gauging.
  • A line with 16 000 kgm hammer with line for steel induction heating and cutting, pre-forming hammer, hammer 16 000 kgm, press 400 tons for trimming and press 1000 tons for gauging.

The two 4000T lines allow to have a secure backup for production.

Silca's policy, focus to energy and environmental issues, led to the installation of a photovoltaic system for the generation of electricity with a surface of over 1,500 m2 of installed panels and a peak power of 225 kW.

TOOLING
The production departments are supported and assisted by mold construction, assembly and maintenance departments that use CNC machines. go to products page >
DESIGN

The Silca technical office is able to follow the CAD design of even extremely complex parts using the latest generation software and with molding simulations.
